October 31st has special significance in many cultures — in Lutheranism, Reformation Day is celebrated.  In Mexico, Día de los Muertos – the Day of the Dead – remembrances begin.  All Hallows Eve, or Halloween was celebrated here at Resurrection by hosting a community outreach event — Trunk or Treat.  Thirteen families decorated their vehicles, dressed up in costume and handed out candy, toys and treats to the children of the community.  RLC members offered a “Decked out” pirate ship, a Day of the Dead shrine, a haunted field with a cute scarecrow, a scary surgeon’s office and a bubbling cauldron that “smoked” and steamed along with many others. Over one hundred visitors attended the event, 54 children received treat and smiles.  Many of these were families from the RLC CDC and Casey Subaru along with some community members who had joined us for the Community Cookout last September.  Kudos to Nancy & Mike Carlson for organizing this first ever event! See Photos of 2019 Trunk-or-Treat!
