“Complete Ministry Audit” report to Resurrection’s membership begins this week  starting this evening. The presentation lasts for about an hour. Executive summaries will be given for participants to take home and pray about. It is imperative that people who care about the future mission and ministry of Resurrection attend both an Audit presentation and a Listening Post. Sign up for one of the seven opportunities to attend September 15 -21.

Senior MomentsCalling all who are “young at heart!”  Please join us at Resurrection’s monthly social gathering for seniors, Room 120, Sunday, September 22, at 3:00 p.m. A sign-up sheet will be posted on the bulletin board near the  sanctuary entrance. Pizza is on the menu. The Senior Moments Group will also be putting together boxes for the Christmas Child Program.   (Phil) 

Portals of Prayer: The October-January edition of this excellent devotional booklet is    available at the Ushers’ Table in the narthex.  Please ask an Usher for a copy as you leave this morning.  Also, available is a Sight-Saver edition.  Why not take two copies and share one with a friend … and invite them to worship with us!  

A/V team members are needed! Members are especially needed for 11am services. Group and one-on-one training will be provided. Contact Steve.

Worship and Picnic at the Park 2019 begins at 11:00 am on Sunday, September 29th in Newport News Park, Shelter #19.  Bring a chair to sit on (or a blanket) for worship.  Bring a side dish and dessert to share. Fried chicken, water, soda and  paper products will be provided. Enjoy Children’s games, Volleyball, and Lawn games and Fellowship.  A   signup sheet to help with the picnic and games will be posted in the Fellowship Hall. Early (8:00) Traditional Worship Service will be held at the church – but no Sunday School. Should inclement weather occur, please check Resurrection’s website, for  further instructions.

Resurrection & Youth Group Bonfire & Overnight Camping Saturday, 7:00pm, September 28th:  All RLCS family, friends, and especially our LYFR and  Confirmation youth and families are invited to an evening at Newport News Campground, Youth Group Site #1.  A Bonfire, Hot Dogs, S’more making, Games, Snacks, Worship and Fun are in store for all who come.  Bring your camp chairs, roasting forks, and bug spray. Overnight camping is available for youth and chaperones only. Contact Chip. for more information.

Peninsula Rescue Mission     (a partner, parachurch ministry)

PRM continues to share hope and make a difference in people’s lives.  Resurrection supports PRM through periodic donations of non-perishable food and household supplies. September Needs: vegetable oil and gravy. Place your donations in the PRM bin the Lobby.

Thank You!  To Resurrection Red Cross Blood Drive Team, whose faithfulness and dedication help our local Red Cross fill the need for blood in our area!  Many thanks to Joan , Doris , and Lenore  for heading up this wonderful ministry.  Also many thanks to the other volunteers who come in to help during the blood drive! 33 pints of blood were donated on Tuesday. THANK YOU!!!!

S.T.E.P. Into Ministry . . . Pr. Ramey will be leading a   morning study of spiritual gifts, talents, experiences and personality profiled (S.T.E.P.) on Saturday, September 28       beginning at 9:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. A sign-up sheet may be found on the Sunday School desk, across from the Church  Office or you can go to “SignUpGenius” to register. The next S.T.E.P. will be Saturday, October 26th.
