The View from the Pulpit:

Dear Fellow “Family Members” at Resurrection,

“A SPECIAL REQUEST FROM PR. HANK, RLS-CC DIRECTOR ANN EZELL, & NEW DIRECTOR SUSAN DECK, & the STAFF at RESURRECTION LUTHERAN CHURCH & SCHOOL-CHILDCARE!”

Over 100 years ago, someone asked the great preacher Dr. Charles Spurgeon the secret of his overwhelming success as a pastor.  Gesturing toward the “Prayer Room” of the Metropolitan Tabernacle, he answered, “My people pray for me!”  Over and over again in the Epistles the Apostle Paul exhorted his readers to PRAY FOR HIM!

We, the Called Staff, the Office Staff and our School Staff would like to ask each of you at Resurrection to PRAY FOR US – to pray daily for the Pastor, the School Director, the Office Staff and the School Staff.  Your prayers can make all the difference in the world for our ministries in and through our congregation!

Would you do Pr. Hank, School Directors Ann Ezell & Susan Deck, Rich Peltz, Ann Wahlstrom, Marsha Snyder, Sandra Steuck, Robin Snider, Mary Wahlstrom, Ruth Cooper, Carole Baugham, Genna Forrest and Matthew Uenking the honor and privilege of specifically asking the Lord the following:

1) That God would grant us a growing love for Him and His Word;

2) That God would give us physical health and strength, moral convictions, and spiritual power to faithfully proclaim His Word;

3) That God would give us wisdom in all decisions that have to be made;

4) That God would bind the Satanic forces which attack and tempt us as spiritual leaders;

5) That God would bless us with continuing power of the Holy Spirit to preach, teach,

lead, and oversee the mission and ministries of Resurrection Lutheran Church & School-Child Care;

6) That God would give us a genuine love for all people – even our enemies!

7) That God would lead us to give glory to Him alone in all that we say, do or think;

8) That God would bless our families, that they might grow in faith and love, and be a model for all who observe our lives;

9) That God would keep us from discouragement, frustration, guilt, and fatigue, and give us a sensitive heart of love.

YOUR PRAYERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE! – and thy certainly make a difference in the mission and ministry of our congregation, Resurrection.  Our Church Staff seeks to remember you in their prayers – so please, may all of us at Resurrection seek to do the Lord’s will in this place!

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.  With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”  [Ephesians 6:18]

Your Fellow Servant, in Christ our Lord,

Pastor Hank Hollar
