SUNDAY CLASSES

Adult  Enrichment  and  Growth  Classes

SUNDAY CLASSES

STARTING THIS MONTH!  Issues in Ephesians The Book of Ephesians will take center stage for the 9:30 a.m. Fellowship Hall class, addressing issues such as predestination and election, God’s plan of blessing, identifying the body of Christ and its biblical structure with respect to offices and gifts, our duties and liberties in varying roles at home and at work, and the nature of our struggle and strength as Christians in light of the primary enemy of the cross — all will be covered!  Thom Rake will facilitate this class, beginning on September 19th.

Books of the Bible Trevor Archinal’s Sunday morning discussion class, an old tradition at Resurrection, returns September 19th, with a look at the Gospel of Matthew.    Please plan to join us on that day at 9:30 a.m. in Room 127.

A special thank-you to all those who made our “Welcome to Mayberry!” DVD Bible study such a success this summer.  What an usual opportunity it was to see the workings of our Christian faith within the conventions of a classic TV sitcom!  Especial thanks to Kevin Altman, Andy Lewis & Ann Ezell for leading the class, and most especially we thank Thom Rake for arranging the class to begin with.

WEEKDAY CLASSES

Tuesday Morning Small Group Bible Study We be starting up again next week, on September 14th, and meet weekly thereafter from 10:00 to 11:30 in the Youth Room.  Our topic for the fall season will be “The 3:16 Study” – a look at Chapter 3–Verse 16 of many New and Old Testament books of the Bible.  Our first meeting will be an overview of the study and a time to meet and greet new and previous members of the group.  A light snack will be provided!  If you have any questions, call Deni or Andy Lewis (867-4989), who serve as the group leaders.

Wednesday Morning Bible Study It has been said that in Exodus God took the Israelites out of Egypt and in Numbers God takes Egypt out of the Israelites.  But in our weekly Bible study, we have exited the Five Books of Moses and have now entered into the promised land of The Book of Joshua.  Please join us each Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. in Room 127 as we examine Joshua.  Extra Bibles — and, of course, Lutheran-brewed coffee! — are always available!

Thursday Evening Small-Group Bible Study Carroll Glasco is re-starting this class as soon as a minimum number of participants is reached.  If you are interested, please contact him directly.
