Resurrection Lutheran School and Child Care – A Ministry of Purpose

Resurrection Lutheran School and Child Care – A Ministry of Purpose

We believe children are a great blessing given to us by God, therefore, “Resurrection Lutheran School and Child Care exists to joyfully share the love of Jesus Christ, and nurture the faith of children and their families.”  Resurrection Lutheran School and Child Care is a response to, and founded on Luke 18:16, “…Jesus called to them saying, “Let the children come to me and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God.”’

In conjunction with Resurrection Lutheran Church’s mission statement “to Love, and obey the Savior, Equip believers for ministry and Share the Good News of Jesus”, our school and child care provides a positive, Christian atmosphere where children develop spiritually, socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally.

Resurrection Lutheran School and Child Care helps to strengthen the congregation:  For the past 16 years the Ministry of Resurrection Lutheran School has touched the lives of 761 students and their parents.  21 families have been brought into membership in our congregation, 25 of our students have been baptized into the Lord’s family.

Resurrection Lutheran School and Child Care nurtures children’s faith.  The children’s faith has been nurtured by faithful, dedicated teachers and staff who proclaim the Gospel to them on a daily basis.

The children are taught how to apply scripture to their daily lives.  They are challenged to live their Christian faith.

Resurrection Lutheran School helps to strengthen our congregation and community.  Children from all parts of our community, regardless of race, color, national or ethnic origin are accepted into our program.  Our children have been prepared to have a strong, positive effect on and in our community through their and their family’s participation in community affairs such as sports, the YMCA, and other church denominations.  Resurrection Lutheran School supports PORT, Operation Christmas Child, helps to fill Thanksgiving baskets, supports our missionary family Mike and Heather Miller and supports the Lutheran Association of Missionary Pilots (L.A.M.P).  Many of our school “Alumni” fill positions in the church; Acolytes, musicians, LYFR’s, softball, VBS and Bible Camp volunteers and lay readers for our Sunday services.

Resurrection Lutheran School strives to provide a safe environment where our children do not have to worry about being attacked verbally or physically.  Our facilities are secured and monitored throughout the day.  Our staff has been trained in CPR and First Aid.  Emergency policies are in place to insure the best possible care for our staff and students, exceeding State standards.

Resurrection Lutheran School helps children to see all of their lives from the perspective of God’s Word.  As the Holy Spirit works in and through the lives of our students, and faith develops and grows, Christian decision making and problem solving matures.  The familiar question – “What would Jesus do?” is behind every step to resolution.

Resurrection Lutheran School demonstrates the high value that our congregation places on children.  Our congregation has invested in our school through prayer, energy, money and staff.  This dedication to Christian education demonstrates to our community the high value we place on children.

Resurrection Lutheran School enhances the public relations of the congregation by building relationships with our parents and the community.  Many families moving into our area are seeking a church home.  Our school parents help to “advertise” our school, bringing community awareness to both our church and school.

Resurrection Lutheran School seeks out the lost.  Our school has provided varied opportunities for evangelism on behalf of our congregation.  Many pastors of growing congregations with schools, in nearly every case, identify the school as the congregation’s most effective outreach agency.

Please pray for our school and child care that God continues to call little ones to Him through this powerful ministry of our church.

                                                                                                  Blessings!
