Objectives:

1. To investigate specific needs within the congregation and the community, and to encourage and guide congregational participation in alleviating the identified needs.
2. To educate the membership on social ministry issues, and suggest and coordinate congregational responses and activities.
3. To encourage congregational participation and support of Synodical, District, and local social ministry programs.
4. To deepen the faith and activity of the entire membership for the work of living and sharing the Gospel.
5. To promote and publicize the work and activity of the congregation.
6. To integrate the work of the congregation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Focus the outreach of the church by:
   1. Supporting individual ministries.
   2. Promoting relevant educational opportunities.
   3. Reviewing funding requests.
   4. Making recommendations for discretionary expenditures by the church..
2. Administers and adheres to the process outlined on the Outreach Assistance Documentation Sheet (next page) in order to optimize the established community assistance system that Resurrection Lutheran Church and School supports. Resurrection Lutheran Church and School has partnered with LINK (Living Interfaith Network) in order to best serve individuals and families in need. The Outreach Assistance Documentation Sheet is provided on the next page of this manual.
3. Submits board meeting minutes to the Parish Administrator for file. Posts minutes to bulletin board outside fellowship hall.
