BOUNTIFUL GOD … BLESSED PEOPLE is our special emphasis and fund drive to assist Resurrection’s Discretionary Fund during the month of July.  Summer months are particularly hard on many due to high electric bills and school supplies to be purchased.  Your gifts to the Discretionary Fund help make it possible for us to show God’s love, hope and help in emergency services.  An offering plate is placed at the entrance of the Sanctuary to receive your gifts – AND THANK YOU FOR OUR GENEROSITY! Also, visit our website (rlcnn.org) for more information for online donations.

SUMMER VACATION TIME IS HERE … If you should stay in a motel and they offer small bottles of shampoo and soap please bring the unused ones to the church. They will be used in hygiene kits during PORT (People Offering Resources Together), our ministry to the homeless.  There is a box to collect these items in the Church Office Lobby.  Thank you for your support!

AS YOU VACATION THIS SUMMER, please remember to find and worship at a local Lutheran congregation.  Visit the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod website, and look under Resources to find a local LCMS congregation.  A Lutheran church is not in the vicinity?  Go to worship somewhere!  And please bring back a bulletin for Pr. Hank, as he solicits ideas from what other congregations are doing in ministry!

IN HONOR OF THE 500TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE REFORMATIONA Listing of the 95 THESES posted by DR. MARTIN LUTHER on the WITTENBURG CHURCH DOOR for DISPUTATION (in modern English):

39)  It is very difficult, even for the most learned theologians, at one and the same time to commend to the people the bounty of indulgences and the need of true contrition.

40)  True repentance and contrition seek and love punishment; while rich indulgence absolves from it, and causes men to hate it, or at least gives them occasion to do so.
