Summer Camp At Resurrection Lutheran School

Summer Camp begins on Monday, June 17th. The theme for this summer is “Habitats around the Word.” Students will explore different habitats, locate where they are and learn about the animals and insects in those habitats.  Please call the school office (757) 596-5808 for further information.

S.T.E.P. Training on July 13th

beginning at 9:00 am, following the Men’s Breakfast, in the Fellowship Hall. Pastor Ramey led a session in June, primarily for the church leadership, and those who attended asked him to     conduct more workshops for the sake of all the members of Resurrection. During the S.T.E.P. workshop, we will help everyone recognize their Spiritual gifted, Time priorities, Experiences, and Passion based on their behavioral blends. There is a sign-up sheet on the Sunday School desk in the Lobby, across from the Church Office.

Thank You to Today’s Participants

in our “Praise and Celebration” Communion Service. As we continue to build a second praise team for our communion services, we do so to present consistency in our advertised, contemporary services to the community. We are open to more help in the areas of singers,    instruments, and audio-visual workers!

Youth Confirmation Classes

for our rising Eighth Graders will begin next Sunday, June 23, at 6:00 pm, and will continue  until Confirmation Sunday on October 27th at the late service. The students and a parent will need to be with us next week to get things rolling. While each student will be encouraged to work at their own pace, there is still a rigorous schedule that needs to be followed. If you have   questions, please speak to Pastor Ramey!

to attend the National Association of Lutheran Interim Pastors (NALIP) Conference in Baltimore, MD. If you need any pastoral care, please call the Church Office and/or your Elder. If needed, Pastor will be informed upon his return regarding any emergencies.

Summer Sunday School

This summer children are invited to grow in their faith as we sing, learn from the catechism, and enjoy crafts in Sunday school. Summer Sunday school will begin June 23. All children from     preschool through rising 7th grade will meet in the Youth Room. Confirmation students and    senior youth are encouraged to attend Pastor’s Sunday school class in the fellowship hall.     Contact Nigel or Kelly Brown with any questions.  There will not be children’s Sunday School on June 16.  However, there will be childcare provided with a movie in the Youth Room.

Election of the LCMS President

will take place the week of June 22-29, 2019. Each church in the LCMS has the privilege of   registering two votes – one pastor and one lay. Pastor Ramey and Andy Lewis are Resurrection’s electors. Please pray for this election process, for each elector to be guided by the Spirit, and for the election of God’s chosen servant to office. Additionally, the Synodical   Convention will be held in Tampa, Florida on July 20-25. While no one from Resurrection is attending as a delegate, we do want to lift up all those who will be serving as delegates in prayer for safe journeys and peaceful deliberations.

The Transitional Task Force

is currently gleaning information to finish the “Complete Ministry Audit” in preparation for   sharing information and recommendations for moving forward in mission and ministry. Your heart-felt prayers for guidance and support are truly appreciated! Once the audit is completed, the  presentation of its findings will be made to the whole congregation in September for              consideration and adoption. This will be used to complete the congregation’s “Self-Evaluation Tool” (SET) and to underwrite the “Pastor Profile” that will be sent to the District President to  officially begin the Call Process for our new, resident pastor. Please keep the Task Force and Pastor Ramey in your continued, daily prayers!

needs your spare, pocket and couch change.  Please bring in your little mite boxes and put them into the big mite box and take a new empty one. Or just bring any loose change you have an put it in the Big Mite box…   This change goes a long way to support so many good  causes… Just like how it paid for the stove we have in our kitchen in the form of approved grant money thru mites thru LWML.

Prayers For Resurrection’s Transition

Join the Elder Team for a short prayer at the altar immediately after both services. We will be asking God’s guidance and comfort during this pastoral transition period.  All are welcome!
